Trying to compete with other car brands like BMW, Mercedes, Honda is not always easy, but having a brand that incorporates all types of customer segments would result in the best outcome. For Toyota, it's more of what it doesn't have for its customers because when I mention Toyota to someone they sometimes say "boring, cheap, underpowered". Those are particular customers looking for powerful, exotic, and comfort where they would mention BMW or Mercedes to fit into that description. Since Toyota is already focused more so to the everyday consumer, it has a wider spectrum of people to fulfill. To compete with brands like Mercedes and BMW, Toyota can make a car model through Toyota or Lexus and advertise it to compete against the likes of its competitors. Similar to what they did when they created the Lexus LFA, using the car's exhaust to break a wine glass. For car enthusiasts like me, the Lexus LFA is undoubtably one of the best sounding vehicles of all time... It was a car that stunned the world at the capabilities of Toyota against its "overpowering" competitors. In my opinion it was only a glimpse at what Toyota was capable of achieving, without sacrificing any of the "everyday" characteristics Toyota is known for. Toyota is undoubtably one of the most used and known car manufacturers today and can reclaim the crown with a new product. The only thing I can see preventing them from doing this is because of the pressure they will be facing for a car product to rival or even surpass what they have now like the LFA. I have no doubt that Toyota can surpass the likes of their 7 year old product and see no reason to back out from it. I think it's about time to make the world feel that nostalgia again.
